New video series “A House of Faith” helps to build spiritual resilience

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a new video series called “A House of Faith.” Eleven short video clips explore different phases and aspects of faith to help develop spiritual resilience during various life circumstances.

“We all face troubling times and confusing situations in our life,” says Elder Zarse, an Area Seventy who was involved in the development of the project. “Sometimes we seemingly get bombarded by voices constantly questioning and ridiculing our faith in Jesus Christ,” he goes on. “The focus of this series is on how we can grow in our faith and learn from our experiences with uncertainty and opposition, rather than being upset or disillusioned by them,” he continues.

The video clips are produced for all audiences. They can be watched individually, in any order, or all together. They could be discussed at home, at church, in other class settings such as Institute or self-reliance courses, or with anyone who would like to learn more about developing faith in God.

“I hope these concepts help viewers take courage to grow in their own faith and come to learn that faith will evolve and change over time,” says Jennifer Keil, a member of the Church who worked as volunteer on the screenplays. “Our faith in God is alive and our experiences are not always simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ situations, which means our faith needs to develop accordingly.” She continues, “This will ultimately widen our perspective and help us through simple and hard times, as we become stronger and more spiritually resilient.”

The series introduces several tools that help individuals exercise and grow their faith in God. Each tool is discussed in a separate video, with supporting scriptures for further study and discussion.

Elder Zarse concludes, “It is a conscious decision to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow him. When we choose God in our life, we obtain pleasant and abundant fruits. A better understanding of God and how to exercise faith in Him will align us with and anchor us to our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. Covenants to follow God will produce a confidence and strength which influences all aspects of our life, our own God-given individuality and our interactions with those around us.”

The series can be found on YouTube and is available for download on the Church’s website.
