A special broadcast for members of the Church will be held this coming Sunday, May 31, featuring Church humanitarian and self-reliance efforts across the Europe Central Area.

The “Caring for Those in Need” video will occupy the first 30 minutes of the usual 5th Sunday meeting following sacrament meeting.  The remaining 15 minutes will allow for local discussion in each ward and branch.

The video will be shown in all Church units except those scheduled for stake or district conferences. Those units will be able to screen the program later.

“Our purpose in producing this video was to thank the members of the Church for their donations and their service in caring for those in need throughout our area,” said Christian Ottiker, manager for the Welfare and Self-Reliance Department in the Europe Central Area.  “And those needs are great.”

In addition to showing video of current and recent humanitarian projects, the video includes interviews with Church members who have used the many self-reliance resources provided by the Church to help them become independent and self-reliant, from immigrants to asylum seekers to those struggling to improve their education.

The video includes a message from Europe Central Area President Elder Rubén V. Alliaud.

The video has been translated into 23 languages in addition to English, including Farsi for the first time.
