Latter-day Saints donate shoes to unhoused people in Germany

In February of 2024, the Hanau congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated 205 pairs of shoes to the Franziskus-Haus (Francis House) – an ecumenical help centre serving unhoused people in the German city of Hanau.

The Europe Central Area administration provided the funds for this donation. Mike Lesner, the Church's Sunday School president in Hanau, had the idea for this project, took the initiative, and purchased all the shoes from local shops.
