The Budapest Hungary Temple will be the Church’s first temple in the country and will add to the 14 other temples in Europe. Church president Russell M. Nelson first announced the temple in April 2019. It will serve the members of the Church in Hungary and several other surrounding countries.

Latter-day Saint temples differ from meetinghouses where members gather for Sunday worship services. Temples are considered houses of the Lord where Christ’s teachings are reaffirmed through sacred ordinances that unite families for eternity. Inside, members learn more about the purpose of life and make covenants to serve Jesus Christ and their fellowmen.
