The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released the following statement on Friday, August 28, 2026.
“The First Presidency, the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints join the people of Norway in mourning the passing of His Majesty King Harald V.
“Throughout his long life of service, King Harald provided a steady and unifying presence for his nation.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to Queen Sonja, His Majesty King Haakon VIII, Her Majesty Queen Mette-Marit, the entire Royal Family, and the people of Norway at this time of loss.
“We find solace in the hope of a glorious resurrection and reunion, made possible through the loving sacrifice and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
