Global Church Leaders Begin European Ministry Tour

Two high-ranking female leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints began a weeklong European tour this week, bringing messages of hope, discipleship, and divine purpose to youth, children and adults across several countries.

Sister Emily Belle Freeman, Young Women General President, and Sister Amy A. Wright, First Counselor in the Primary General Presidency, launched their visit with a series of devotionals in Berlin and Rome, respectively. Each tailored to the unique needs and divine potential of the rising generation.

In Berlin, Sister Freeman testified to hundreds of young women and men, leaders and missionaries in personal and moving devotionals about how God loves to give gifts and has specific gifts for each of us. Sister Freeman, known for her heartfelt teaching, taught the youth that “when God says that He has a great work for us to do He also has gifts for us to accomplish that great workand to “remember that God will speak to you. She then opened the time for a question-and-answer session with the youth.

In Rome, Sister Wright’s upbeat and interactive devotional was conducted by local children. It emphasized the eternal truth that everyone in the church is valuable to the Savior. She helped them understand how to feel the Spirit and learn about Jesus. Her warm and encouraging message, “you are children of God — this is your identity”, was filled with stories, scripture, drawing activities and songs that taught the children about Christ and brought smiles and the Spirit to the gathering.

These sisters will now embark on a spiritually significant journey spanning five countries in seven days to highlight the Church’s global mission to serve communities, strengthen families and most importantly nurture faith in Jesus Christ.

Upcoming Highlights of the Tour

  • Warsaw, Poland: Sister Freeman will, alongside local Saints and volunteers, participate in a humanitarian service project.
  • Zurich, Switzerland: Sister Wright will meet with government officials, continuing the Church’s worldwide efforts for religious freedom, family advocacy, and interfaith cooperation.
  • Lyon, France: The two leaders will reunite for a series of combined devotionals, ministering to both youth and children.
  • Brussels, Belgium: The tour will conclude in the heart of the European Union with devotionals and meetings.

This tour reflects the Church’s belief that everyone, including children and youth, are beloved children of God, capable of great spiritual strength and service.
