DOWNLOADThe First Presidency has assigned Elder Paul H. Sinclair to serve as a member of the Europe North Area Presidency. Elder Sinclair will join Elder Marcos A. Aidukaitis and Elder Kevin W. Pearson, who continues in his role as President of the Area. Elder Sinclair succeeds Elder Alan T. Phillips in the Presidency, who has been assigned to now serve in the United States Northeast Area.
Speaking of the reorganisation, which was first announced in May 2026, President Pearson expressed his gratitude to Elder Phillips and his family and spoke of his excitement at the opportunity to serve alongside Elder Sinclair.
“The Europe North Area has been richly blessed by the knowledge, faith and devotion shown by Elder Phillips, and we thank him for his dedication to the wonderful people in this part of the Lord's vineyard,” he said. “Over the past year, we have seen the Lord move mountains together as a presidency and have witnessed miracles that confirm to us that the Lord is preparing the people in these lands for a mighty work. We are excited to welcome Elder Sinclair and his wife, Mona, to this great cause and know the experience and heart they bring to this work.”
Elder Pearson added: “As we enter a decade of temples and temple worship, we remain committed to strengthening individuals and families, supporting local leaders, and helping all come unto Christ in a way that is deeply meaningful to each of God's children — one by one.”
Elder Sinclair was sustained as a General Authority Seventy at the April 2026 general conference. His call to the Europe North Area Presidency takes effect from 1 August 2026.
About the Europe North Area Presidency
Each Area Presidency serves under the direction of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and is responsible for supporting local Church leaders, strengthening members and missionaries, and overseeing humanitarian, temple and outreach efforts throughout the area.
In the Europe North Area, that ministry extends across thirteen countries Cabo Verde, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
Elder Kevin W. Pearson was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 5 April 2008. He has previously served in multiple Area Presidencies around the world, including as President of the Pacific Area and North America West Area, and more recently as President of the Utah Area. A former full-time missionary in the Finland Helsinki Mission, Elder Pearson has held many callings including bishop, mission president and department executive director roles at Church headquarters. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on 10 April 1957, he and his wife, Sister June Langeland, are the parents of six children.
Elder Marcos A. Aidukaitis was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, on 30 August 1959, and has previously served as President of the Brazil Area and in the North America Southeast Area Presidency. Elder Aidukaitis has served in a number of Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Brazil São Paulo Mission, high councillor, regional welfare agent, stake president, mission president and Area Seventy. He and his wife, Sister Luisa Englert, have five children and were married in 1986.
Elder Paul H. Sinclair was sustained as a General Authority Seventy in April 2026. At the time of his call, he had been serving as president of the England London Mission. Elder Sinclair has served in a number of Church callings, including bishop, high councillor, public affairs specialist, stake president, mission president and Area Seventy. Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, he was baptised at nineteen after his wife, Mona, then his high school sweetheart, shared her testimony of the Book of Mormon while studying at Brigham Young University. Elder Sinclair and his wife, Sister Mona Marie Hill Sinclair, were married in the Chicago Illinois Temple in 1987 and are the parents of five children.
Ministering One by One
As the Europe North Area looks toward the year ahead, the presidency remains focused on its vision of inviting people to place the Saviour and sacred ordinances at the centre of their lives and joyfully live the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Drawing on the Lord's own pattern of ministry, the presidency has repeatedly emphasised that the work of gathering is not measured in numbers alone, but in the quiet, personal effort of reaching a single soul — a neighbour, a friend, a family member — one by one.
This focus continues to shape how members across the area's thirteen countries are encouraged to invite, minister and serve, trusting that each individual act of love and outreach carries eternal significance.
Looking further ahead, the Europe North Area is preparing for what has been described as a Temple Decade, not just in the Europe North Area, but around the world. This period from 2027 onward will be marked by unprecedented temple momentum across the area, with groundbreakings, open houses and dedications that will provide opportunities for the world to experience the joy found in the House of the Lord.
