Brussels, Belgium — On Wednesday, 25 February, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints inaugurated the new office spaces of its European Union and International Affairs Office in Brussels. Guests from government, diplomatic missions, faith communities, and civil society attended the reception, marking a significant milestone in the Church’s engagement with the European Union and the diplomatic community in Brussels.

The Brussels office reflects the Church’s commitment to three core areas: promoting freedom of religion or belief, strengthening families, and supporting humanitarian efforts worldwide.

“From humble beginnings in a one-room farmhouse in western New York to the establishment of an international government relations presence at the center of power on the European continent, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints seeks to be a friend to all nations and faiths,” said Justin Harding, Director of International Government Relations for the Church.

The European Union and International Affairs Office was established in September 2013 and began operations in a modest space, supporting the Church’s early outreach to European institutions and international partners. As its work and engagement expanded over time, the office moved into a new and improved facility in January 2026, designed to better serve its growing mission.

The transition was marked by a private dedication of the office space, followed by an opening reception that offered guests the opportunity to meet Church representatives and learn more about the office’s vision and priorities.

Francesco Di Lillo, Director of the Brussels office, expressed hope that the new premises would serve as a platform for dialogue and cooperation with European and international institutions. “Our vision is for everyone to feel welcome within these walls,” he said. “We hope officials, partners, and friends will see this office as a place where ideas, values, and initiatives can be shared—addressing common concerns and contributing positively to society in a spirit inspired by the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
