For the first time at the Frankfurt International Book Fair, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is introducing a digital social experiment centered on The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. From 16-20 October 2024, visitors to the Church’s booth will be invited to read brief passages from the book and share their reflections and feelings about what they read.
This innovative approach offers a fresh way to engage with the Book of Mormon, which has been printed over 200 million times in more than 100 languages since its first publication in 1830. The book of scripture has one million daily digital readers.

“Instead of us telling people what the Book of Mormon says, this experiment allows new readers to safely explore for themselves and then describe it to us. The Church’s booth at the Frankfurter Buchmesse, which runs from 16-20 October 2024, will also including multiple experiences to help visitors learn about their family history. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore their family roots with the help of trained volunteers by using FamilySearch, the world’s largest free genealogy website.
FamilySearch’s extensive archive includes 13.16 billion searchable names from over 100 countries, offering individuals the chance to discover their ancestors and connect with their heritage. Visitors to the booth will also learn about new features and advancements that make genealogical research easier and more accessible.
“The FamilySearch experiences and the Book of Mormon Experiment provide unique opportunities for individuals to engage with their heritage and gain insights into the teachings of the Book of Mormon”, concluded Elder Alliaud.
The Church’s exhibit will be located at Hall 4.1 - Booth F78, where representatives will be on hand to guide visitors through the FamilySearch discovery experiences and the Book of Mormon Experiment.
